Urgh. My face and throat hasn't been giving me any peace these few months. Been coughing like mad and my gums feel numb. Went to the ENT at KTP hospital on Thursday but the doctor didn't seem to reach any conclusion nor did he pinpoint the source of my discomfort. He did extract a mother-of-all-earwax (as described by him) from my right ear and I almost fainted on the spot. His voice was deafening after he extracted it out. I had no idea I was so deaf, though my left ear is still blocked. He then used this scope that went down from my nostrils (urgh) to see what's going on in my throat. Apparently it looks a little swollen, but he said it isn't anything worrying. He said the swelling might be from acid reflux and form the fact that I'm a teacher so I use my voice a lot, which I do and I feel terrible especially coming out from a difficult class. I'm now on the medicine, but there doesn't seem to be any effect. I did a skin prick test too, but all turned out negative. The wounds are itchy now though.
He referred me to an orofacial person at the dental department and I was attended to by this woman who simply looked like she couldn't bother more. She merely asked me to lie down on the chair, massaged my gums a little here and there, then said that I couldn't be cured and am wasting my time there. I wonder why I didn't get angry then. I could have told her she was wasting her own time as a doctor. Good thing my consultation fee is paid or else I'll storm out of the clinic demanding a refund.
I'll just take my medicine now and see how it goes. Just hope its nothing serious.
On a lighter note, I watched Inception! It was pretty cool, though a little confusing at first. The concept is really cool! I didn't notice we all only remember parts of a dream, never how it starts until the movie talked about it. Cool!
